Meet Mike Holloway

2ND GENERATION TAXIDERMIST

About Mike

Taxidermy has been practiced for thousands of years. It is one of those trades that requires patience, a steady hand, a keen eye, and the ability to consistently present an animal as though it were still living and looking at you.

Families have practiced this time-honored trade together, completing mounts for local customers while training the next generation at the same time.

If you’ve ever seen a mount gone wrong, you’ll understand why you want to trust a taxidermist with this kind of history and competence.

His Upbringing

Mike grew up in the South and learned to hunt and fish by tagging along with his dad. There were many good experiences along the way that taught Mike more than the sports; he gained high levels of respect, integrity, and a work ethic that is second to none.

His Experience

Mike is a second generation taxidermist. He learned the trade first-hand from his family as he was growing up. There is something special about a taxidermist who's been hunting and fishing and mounting his memories for years.

His Passion

Mike is taking the heritage he's been given and bringing up his children in the same standards and ways. He understand a good name is to be desired more than great riches and every job he does carries a piece of him with it.

Recommendations

One of the unique things about Jackson Branch Taxidermy is their willingness to share recommendations with you before you go to the field.

How do you cape out that big buck to get the best mount? How do you keep the record-breaking bass fresh between the catch and the handoff to the taxidermist? How do you prepare a turkey for transport to get ensure the the feathers and beard are preserved?

The key to getting the best mount is to talk with Mike before you hunt or fish.
